CANVVS was approached by Disney to create a custom pair of sneakers for the PIXAR movie 'Elemental's' premier in London, June 2023, which was attended by the stars and filmmakers.
“Elemental” is an all-new, original feature film set in Element City, where Fire-, Water-, Earth- and Air-residents live together. The story introduces Ember (voice of Leah Lewis), a fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun and sappy guy named Wade (voice of Mamoudou Athie) challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.
The Puma Smash V2 sneakers were made for the director Peter Sohn who debuted the pair on the red carpet on the opening night. To create the sneakers, CANVVS collaborated with one of our founding artist Melicka to recreate the 4 key Elemental characters across the sneaker. Keeping inline with Disney's branding, the finished sneakers were beautifully detailed and full of life.
Melicka has always been a huge PIXAR fan and integrates little characters into all her pieces always creating a story and real meaning behind her designs. Melicka has also supported CANVVS in multiple other projects including Soccer Aid 2023.
